Well, every beginning has an end unless the end is actually a new beginning! That seems to be the case for us as today was the last day of our formal training and instruction time here at the Missionary Training Center. It was amazing. Let me show you around and meet the people we shared our adventures with. Also, we met up with a few people we knew from home and love! This Monday we fly out of Salt Lake City to Amsterdam and then on to Stockholm.

It’s odd to think that ‘in the beginning’ it was such a countdown until the day came we would leave home to begin our mission. That changed the moment we stepped into the MTC Building on Monday the 8th. It was amazing. This is truly the Lord’s campus where training his thousands of young stripling (and for Seniors not so stripling or young) warriors to fight against the darkness and for Truth and Light is in a constant state of perpetual motion. The preparation, teaching, learning…the Spirit, the camaraderie, the feeling of being inside the workings of a light bulb…the charge that infuses the feeling of being one in a common Holy purpose is amazing. We look around the thousands of Elders and Sisters here so happy and energized, navigating between their activities and scheduled training and we feel caught up in the enthusiasm and youthful energy they radiate. (We Senior Missionaries also ‘navigate’ trying to avoid being mowed down by them – so we try to stay in the slow lane – it’s kind of like playing human dodge ball – they are either swiftly bound for someplace or hungry…and I might suggest that if you are intent on not being trampled upon when it’s their time for food you use extra caution.) Most odd is the fact that since we arrived here the days have not seemed to pass. It’s as though we have been suspended in a galaxy of timeless moments without a beginning or an end. Maybe that is because our schedules are so choreographed with teaching and instruction of things so wonderful that eating and sleeping are only recharging stations. How do I feel about this? I feel elated, humble, and absorbed by light, filled with the Spirit, grateful for friendships, and so thankful for my companion. How do I feel about Heavenly Father and the Savior and our Mission? Remarkably blessed…very, remarkably blessed.
