When the story unfolds we find the Neilsons waiting under their carport in the wee hours of the morning…waiting for the shuttle to take them to the airport for a flight to the MTC in Provo, Utah. (The MTC is the Missionary Training Center (click here for a tour!) where missionaries go to spend time getting instruction and the language training they need. Senior Missionaries are sent there to get straightened out, lined out and focused!)
At the airport we boarded the plane for the next leg of our journey where we again caught a shuttle to go to Provo. We enjoyed meeting an extraordinary man, our driver, whom we thoroughly enjoyed talking with. He shared the remarkable story of how he came to the United States – he was great and we are definitely friends!

Driving down through Provo and driving onto the Missionary Training Center complex we were met by Elders who were taking those Senior Missionary couples arriving to the main processing desks. People greeting everyone coming in as though they had expected important guests. We followed from counter to counter where we received our name badges, got our picture taken, flight and travel information, and then the Elders took our luggage to the third floor to our room. They didn’t have any problems taking up 50 pound suitcases (one in each hand) up three flights to our room. Home Sweet Home till we leave for Sweden on Monday the 15th!
