Settling down with a good book…or attending a show performance is exciting and relaxing. Giving yourself permission to simply enjoy being taken wherever the music or the story line takes you is a wonderful feeling. Sharing the many talents of others is inspiring! So often we remark to ourselves how much we wish we could do the things we admire in what others are capable of doing.
Ever wonder what your talents are? The talents we each have are in reality, gifts for all of us to enjoy and to bless the lives of those around us. By choosing to live up to all we are capable of and which is worthwhile, is to accomplish the best that is within ourselves. Here’s to feeling really good about who we are and what we have to offer the world – willing to share our talents and give whole-heartedly by doing the best we can do. We, who write our own stories and perform on our own stage by choice and thank God for the privilege every day for being who we are — knowing He loves us just the way we are…and even more so!
…The Talent to Serve, to Care, to Share
“When Jesus Christ came to earth, He spent much of His ministry caring for the poor and needy. He healed the sick, fed the hungry, and comforted the discouraged. He urged those who would follow Him to do the same.
He taught, “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another” (John 13:35).
Eighteen centuries later, Joseph Smith, whom God called as a prophet, taught that a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints “is to feed the hungry, to clothe the naked, to provide for the widow, to dry up the tear of the orphan, to comfort the afflicted, whether in this church, or in any other, or in no church at all, wherever he finds them.”
Today, members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints join with millions around the world to help improve the lives of those in need and to help people become self-reliant. They hold sacred this scriptural admonition: “When ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God” (Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ, Mosiah 2:17).
Sharing our service, time and talents as missionaries of Jesus Christ…we wouldn’t have missed this opportunity for the world!
Share…see a need and fill it…give…
